KUNDALINI SYNDROME: THE UNBRIDLED POWER

or what happens when the snake wakes up and you're still in your pyjamas

In the spiritual world, few things sound as tempting and sinister at the same time as "Kundalini awakening". A kind of mystical inner storm that, if all goes well, leads to divine self-realisation, pure presence and even ultimate enlightenment. Except that the phrase "if all goes well" deserves more attention than it gets.

Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā and the Gheraṇḍa Saṁhitā are not modern coaching books, but tough, sweaty texts that make it clear: Kundalini is not some subtle spiritual caress, but a fiery, swirling power, which, if not properly invoked, will interfere. Not a little. But thoroughly.

The sacred texts are not about how to wake up the Kundalini with a guided Spotify meditation, but how to cleanse your body, mind and lifestyle for years before you even approach this energy. They still knew: what you didn't prepare for was overturn.

The Kundalini Syndrome is when it is not enlightenment that comes, but the nervous department

Modern psychology sometimes looks at the concept of the "Kundalini syndrome" with confusion, sometimes with a certain condescension. But it is not some sectarian hyperbole. It's simply that when you have a powerful inner energy suddenly unleashed while the mind is still unsettled, the body is still unpurified, and the emotional system is more like a minefield of forgotten family disputes, then... trouble.

The classic symptoms:
Physical symptomscramps, tremors, involuntary movement of limbs, sensations of heat, pressure in the head or chest.
Mental symptoms: confusion, dream-like experiences, mood swings, inner voices, hypersensitivity.
Psychospiritual symptoms: extreme ego-affirmation ("I am the saviour"), or its opposite: deep existential panic.

They are not definitely are "bad" - but they can only become teachers if they consciously integrated. If not, they may even confuse one's sense of reality. The snake doesn't always kill you - but if it coils up inside you too early, it will tear away the last anchors of stability.

Gradualism as a protective wisdom

One of the greatest values of ancient yoga systems is that never for the experience, but on preparedness the emphasis was on. What matters is not whether you've felt energy along your spine, but whether you've can you stand five minutes of silence without guilt. The important thing is not how many kundalini courses you've taken, but how much you've done. with your shadow.

The real awakening not urgent. It's like a mysterious woman who will only come to you if you have truly made a home for her - a clean, grounded, quiet heart space. But if you just shout violently after her, the syndrome kicks in, and shows that passion when unchecked, it eats itself.

What are they teaching about this today? Well... mostly forgotten

One of the favourite mistakes of modern spirituality is that the complexity of the ancient system replaces it with three mantras, a "me-time" and a chakra-coloured yoga mat. We turned the Kundalini awakening into an instant coaching experience - and completely forgot that it was not an individual project, but a transformation of human consciousness at the deepest level. It is not a question of what you get, but of what you can bear.

The snake is watching - and asks: are you ready?

Kundalini is not looking at how good your affirmations are. It looks at:
- can you stay still in the middle of a storm?
- whether you can go into the deepest darkness within yourself, with only silence in your hands?
- have you learned: it's not the light that cures, but your willingness to to listen to what whispers from the dark.

This is the The secret of Kundalini. Not the experience - but the purification that precedes it.

And if you don't tame yourself first, don't be surprised if the snake doesn't obey.
Because he was never the enemy - only the Guardian of reality.
